Setting Up Contact
Replication
The replication of OLTP business partner contacts to SAP CRM activities implements automatic data exchange between the business objects Customer contact (BOR object type BCONTACT, application component FI-CA-BT-CC) and Activity (BOR object type BUS2000126, application component CRM-BTX-ACT Business Transaction/Activity Management). As a result of the replication, the contacts can be integrated with SAP CRM Activity Management.
The replication is only implemented in the direction OLTP ョ SAP CRM (download). The subfunctions Initial download (also repeated) and Delta download are supported. Both initial creation and changes to existing contacts are replicated. Upload functions (SAP CRM ョ OLTP) are not supported.
This means the contact data is available in all SAP CRM functions that are based on activities (for example, in the Interaction Center or the business partner cockpit).
The data replicated includes:
● The data on the contact itself (primarily, the activity partner, the employee involved, date, type/direction, priority of activity)
● Data added as free text (notes)
● Object links
The object links are implemented as cross-system calls. This means it is possible to directly access the display transaction for the linked business object in the OLTP system. You can also display the contact in the OLTP system itself by means of a separate object link. This only applies to OLTP object links. Generic objects, such as Word documents, are not taken into account.
All changes made in the OLTP system are also executed with the replicated activity. You can make changes in SAP CRM but these do not change the contact in the OLTP system.
You can influence selection of contacts to be replicated by making filter settings in the SAP CRM middleware as well as in special tables in the OLTP system. This allows you to determine that only a certain number of contacts are replicated (for example, only contacts created manually, or only contacts belonging to a certain contact class).
