Procedure documentation Define Daybreaker Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You define the daybreaker to indicate to the system the time when one business day ends and the next begins.

Note

All time and day sequences in the system are based on the daybreaker and the starting day of schedule the week. You can define only one daybreaker for your entire organization.

The daybreaker time can be different than the time a calendar uses to indicate when one day ends and the next day starts, that is, 12:00 midnight. This allows you to ensure you have processing time available before the start of the business day. This might be especially true in 24-hour organizations.

Example

In many cases, the daybreaker time is different than the time a calendar uses to indicate when one day ends and the next day starts, that is, 12:00 midnight. For example, if your daybreaker is 4:00 am and Sunday is the first day of your schedule week, then each business day starts at 04:00, and your business week starts at 04:00 Sunday morning. The consequence is that a shift could span multiple calendar days without spanning multiple days in the schedule period.
