Settings for Physical Products
You create products on the CRM WebClient UI by choosing . Before you can do this, you have to define the product hierarchies and categories for these products in Customizing.
You can do this in the following ways:
By downloading the SAP ERP product hierarchies. To do this, use the transaction R3AS and download the Customizing object DNL_CUST_PROD1. Enter the source and destination.
If you are replicating the hierarchy and categories from SAP ERP, the system automatically assigns the hierarchy to the application.
Caution
You cannot change these Customizing settings once you have created products.
By manually creating the product hierarchies. To do this, use the Customizing activity .
Preparatory Steps
Create a storage form of product IDs in logical systems.
Call the transaction SM30 and the table COMV_PR_LOGSYS. Make the following entries:
Logical system: SAP ERP
Product type: 01
Object family: <leave field blank>
Lex: Defines the way in which the material number is stored in the SAP system (SAP CRM). To find out how the material number is stored in the SAP system, view the settings in transaction OMSL.
Allow upload of a product type.
You use the product type (such as material, financing, service) to control the upload of products. You make the necessary settings in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management, by choosing Allow Upload for a Product Type. In this IMG activity, you specify the product types for which the upload is allowed.
You can also make default settings for the base units of measure for products. Since you cannot enter a unit of measure in the CRM product master data for the product type Financing, enter the unit of measure PC (piece) as the unit of measure for this product type.

Enter the following data on the Category tab page:
Category ID, such as material
Product type, such as material, and the corresponding description
The following indicators are set automatically:

Can maintain conditions
On the Set Types tab page, you can assign all the required set types to the category. Make the following settings:
View ID: Enter the area of the master data in which the data is displayed.
Position: Enter the sequence in which the set types are displayed in the view.
Inherited: Indicates whether a set type was inherited from a higher-level category.
Example

If necessary, you can also enter relationship types and use these in the product. However, you do not usually need to do this for physical products.
Note
Entering Set Types for Physical Products
In SAP Leasing, the material master data uses financing-dependent attributes (residual value strategy, residual value curve, device class, and leasing object list relevant).
These attributes are not contained in the standard categories that you download from SAP ERP (such as MAT_HAWA, MAT_FERT). Therefore, you have to enter the set type CRM_PR_RESIDVL, Financing-Dependent Attributes, for the relevant product categories.
The following table provides an overview of the set types used for physical objects in the Leasing scenario. You have to assign these to the relevant categories, according to your business requirements.
Set Type |

COMM_PR_MAT |

You also have to assign the following relationship types to your categories for physical products:
Relationship Type |
Description |
|---|---|
FINANCD |

ACCESSS |

Assign the category hierarchy to the applications.
If you manually created a hierarchy, you have to assign this category to the relevant application in Customizing by choosing Cross-Application Components. To do this, use the product category 01 Material.
Caution
You cannot change these Customizing settings once you have created products.
