In preparation for download, you can assign each account group the classification that is to be assigned to the business partner in SAP CRM.

The settings for grouping and number assignment are ignored because the numbers need to be the same.

By assigning the classification, you also specify one of the roles the business partner occupies in SAP CRM. For example, if the business partner is created in SAP Media with the classification Customer as a result of their account group, they are also automatically assigned the role Customer. You should therefore note that if you assign the classification Prospect or Competitor, the business partner will also be created in the role Prospect or Competitor.

The business partner’s roles in SAP CRM are also determined by their roles in SAP Media: for example, if you create a Media Customer in SAP Media, the system creates a customer in the background. If you assign the classification Customer to the customer’s account group, the business partner is assigned both the role Customer (due to their classification) and the role Media Customer in SAP CRM.
