Before upload, you must make a dummy entry for the account group for each classification for which you want to create a customer master in SAP Media. The account group you enter here is not taken into account during the upload. It is not possible to determine the account group according to the business partner’s classification in SAP CRM, since the account group is determined by the fact that the numbers are the same. However, the dummy entry is required so that a customer master can be created in SAP Media.

A dummy entry is required for the classification Customer, since otherwise the business partner data in SAP Media can become inconsistent.

The entry is optional for the other classifications. For example, if you do not want to create a customer master in SAP Media for business partners classified as Prospects, you should not make a dummy entry for this classification. A Prospect is then only replicated to SAP Media as a SAP BP and not as a customer master.

The business partner’s role in SAP CRM also indirectly determines whether or not a customer master is created in SAP Media:

●      A customer master is always created for the customer roles in Media (Media Customer, Sales Customer, Retailer). This is only possible if you create a dummy entry for the classification Customer.

●      For example, if you create a business partner in the roles Sold-To Party, Bill-To Party, Payer, or Ship-To Party, they are automatically classified as a Customer. As a result of this, the system also creates a customer master during replication.

●      If you assign the role Sold-To Party to an existing business partner, they are not automatically classified as a Customer. If you want to create a customer master for this business partner, you must classify them manually as a Customer.
