BackgroundRates from SAP NetWeaver BI and Planning at the Product Segment Level

To configure condition generation optimization if the origin of the condition rates is SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence (SAP NetWeaver BI) and planning is done at the product segment level, make the following settings in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under   Master Data   Conditions and Condition Technique   Condition Technique: Basics   Create Access Sequences  .

When condition rates come from SAP NetWeaver BI and planning is done at the product segment level, exception products cannot be added to the trade promotion. However, if you want to reuse the same access sequence for planning at the product segment and product level, at the product category and product level, or at the product group and product level, the Customizing settings of the access sequence are critical. When planning at the product category and product level or at the product group and product level, exception products can be added to the trade promotion and condition generation optimization will only be possible if the access sequence is set as described in the following table.

If All of the Following Is True

Then

  • The planning profile group that the user selects for the trade promotion contains a key figure for the product categories but it does not contain a key figure for the products.

  • In Customizing, you have defined a condition table that contains the Product Category field.

Different discount amounts can be specified for different product categories in the product segment.

The conditions will be generated at the product category level.

  • For short-term pricing conditions, the Campaign field is always part of the condition table in Customizing. Since the condition table contains only one multiple-value field, exception products from product categories or product groups can be added to the trade promotion and condition generation optimization will work with this access sequence and these product levels.

  • For long-term conditions, this is not supported.

  • The planning profile group that the user selects for the trade promotion contains a key figure for the products and a key figure for the product categories.

  • In Customizing, you have defined a condition table that contains the Product field and, optionally, a condition table that contains the Product Category field.

Different discount amounts can be specified for different products and product categories in the product segment.

The conditions will be generated at the product or product category level, depending on the condition table that you have defined in Customizing and on the condition rates that the user enters in the Planning assignment block.

  • For short-term pricing conditions, the Campaign field is always part of the condition table in Customizing. Since the condition table contains only one multiple-value field, exception products can be added to the trade promotion and condition generation optimization will work with this access sequence and these product levels.

  • For long-term conditions, the Campaign field is never part of the condition table. Since the condition table does not contain any multiple-value fields, exception products from product categories or product groups can be added to the trade promotion. However, the conditions are generated at the product level, because for long-term planning, no optimization takes place when generating conditions
