Using Structured Products and Bills of Material 

Use

You can display structured products (CRM Web Channel) and bills of material (BOMs) (ERP E-Commerce) in the B2B and B2C Web shops. A structured product, or bill of material, is a formally structured list of the components that make up a product. The list contains the object number of each component, together with the quantity and unit of measure. They are shown in the Web shop transactions as a main item, containing the header product, and subitems, containing the component products.

 

Procedure

Create structured products in your...

       1.      Create structure products or bills of material:

CRM Web Channel

You can create structured products in one of two ways:

○       In SAP CRM under Accounts and Products.

○       In your SAP ERP system and upload them to your SAP CRM system.

In the SAP Easy Access Menu in your ERP system, choose Logistics ® Production ® Master Data ® Bills of Material.

 

ERP E-Commerce

Create the BOMs in your ERP system. In the SAP Easy Access Menu choose Logistics ® Production ® Master Data ® Bills of Material.

       2.      The main item of a structured product/BOM is automatically displayed in the Web shop in the standard delivery.

To enable explosion and subitem detail display in your B2B and B2C Web shops you must make the following settings in Extended Configuration Management (XCM) at: http://<server:port>/b2b(b2c)/admin/xcm/init.do. Select Start  ®  General  ®  Components  ® ui and enable the following parameter:

○       ui.fields.order.bomExplosion

Enables explosion of the structured product, in other words main item and subitem display.

       3.      To enable the display of subitem details in your B2B Web shop you also need to set the following parameter in XCM at http://<server:port>/b2b(b2c)/admin/xcm/init.do. Select Start  ®  General  ®  Components  ®  ui and enable the following parameter:

¡        ui.fields.order.subItemDetailView

Enables subitem detail display via icon link for all subitems.
