Procedure documentation Define Break Rule Sets Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Use this procedure to define break rule sets. If your implementation requires a large number of break rules, you can group the most commonly used break rules into sets and then assign the set to an employee. Managers assign break rules to employees when performing Employee Maintenance.

Procedure

       1.      You access the activity through either:

¡        The SAP IMG, by choosing the path SAP IMG ® Customer Relationship Management ® Workforce Deployment ® Retail and Interaction Center Workforce Deployment ® Operational Settings ® Break Rules ® Define Break Rules

¡        The SAP Easy Access menu, by entering the transaction code CRM_WFM_SM.

You see the initial page for the site maintenance tool.

                                                  i.       At Profile Type, display the selections and choose Schedule Rules / Parameters.

ii.       At Sub-Type, display the selections and choose Break Rule Set.

                                               iii.       Choose Search.

iv.       Click Break Rule Set, the topmost node of the tree, with the secondary mouse button and choose Create.

You see the Create New Parameter dialog box.

                                                 v.       Enter a Profile ID, which is the name of the break rule set definition the system displays in the tree view.

vi.       Enter a date defining the first day for which the break rule set definition is valid.

                                              vii.       Choose Continue.

       2.      You see the break rule set parameters page where you complete your break rule set definition by entering the following information:

Field

Description

Use / Notes

Break Rule Set ID

The profile id you entered at the Create New Parameter dialog box.

Start Date

The start date you entered at the Create New Parameter dialog box.

The system considers the break rule set valid for the range defined by the start and end dates. Note that date entries may not overlap.

End Date

An end date.

If no end date is planned for this break rule set , enter 12/31/9999 to specify an open-ended validity range.

Short Text

A short description of the break rule set.

The system uses this description in drop down lists for display purposes.

Min Aft Shift Start

The minimum time after the start of a shift that a break can begin.

This value must be entered in minutes, in quarter hour increments, and may not be more than 360. For example, 2 hours 30 minutes would be entered as 150.

Min Bef Shift End

The minimum time before the end of a shift that a break can begin.

This value must be entered in minutes, in quarter hour increments, and may not be more than 360. For example, 2 hours 30 minutes would be entered as 150.

Contiguous Breaks?

A check box to enable the contiguous scheduling of paid and unpaid breaks.

When you choose this field, the system schedules paid and unpaid breaks right after each other (that is, contiguously). When you leave the field blank, the system cannot schedule contiguous breaks. Use this check box to ensure compliance with corporate, legal, and/or union break regulations.

Open Sequence

A check box to enable open sequencing of scheduled breaks.

When you choose the field, the system will schedule the associated break types in any order. When it is unchecked, the system will schedule the break types in the order you specify within the Break Space Rules.

Special Age

A check box that indicates whether or not this break rule set can be applied only to an entity that is restricted by age.

When you choose the field, the system can apply the break rule set to an age restricted default settings group but not to an unrestricted default settings group.

Gap Cost

A numeric value indicating the cost to associate with the gap between breaks.

Long Text

A detailed description of the break rule set.

       3.      Save your entries.

Result

You have defined the break rule sets and can assign them to your location. For more information, see Assign Parameter Settings to Locations.
