Using Site Maintenance
You use site maintenance to:
· Import locations or stores to WFM
· Access configuration parameters
· Associate configuration parameters with locations
· Make changes to specific location configuration settings based on business or organization needs
· Compare and transport configuration parameters from from QA to production systems
Because you define parameters separately from locations, site maintenance allows you to assign the same configuration parameters to the same types of locations which increases system consistency across your entire organization. Site maintenance also gives you the ability to create and manipulate settings for individual locations in order to reflect dynamic business practices as they occur within your organization.
During configuration, you define parameters – individual configuration settings. You then organize related parameters into parameter groups and assign parameter groups to stores or locations you have imported into WFM. You must assign one of each parameter group to store or location in order to make it available for schedule processing.

While you can create the system configuration settings by accessing them through the SAP IMG, site maintenance or SAP Solution Manager, you can only work with parameter groups using site maintenance.
You have completed all tasks defined in Setting Up WFM.
Your initial selection at the Profile Type field determines how you want to view and select information based on your processing requirements within site maintenance. The profile types include:
Profile Type |
Description |
Organizational Unit |
Allows access to single location and initial parameters. |
Parameter Groups |
Logical groupings of parameters. |
Parameters |
The specific detailed settings you use to configure the system which you can organize into parameter groups. |
Operational Settings / Parameters |
Define overall business processing requirements. |
Work Area / Forecast Parameters |
Define work areas and how the system creates forecasts. |
Schedule Settings / Parameters |
Define rules and parameters associated with how the system creates shifts and schedules. |
Schedule Rules / Parameters |
Define your business environment, including work rule settings, break rules, and templates that help define these settings efficiently. |
Default Group Settings / Parameters |
Define employee classifications and clock restriction messages. |
Once you choose a profile type, choose Search to generate a tree view for your selection. When you choose:
· Organizational Unit, you see a tree of locations that are active within the system.
· Any other profile type, you see all sub-types available underneath that profile type. Select a sub-type to access the specific parameters associated with it.
Parameters are the specific settings you use to configure the scheduling solution.
● The settings that appear in the Sub-Type dropdown box depend on your choice within Profile Type. For example, if you choose Parameters at Profile Type, you see all configuration settings in Sub-Type.
● To limit the options you see for Sub-Type, select a specific parameter group. For example, if you select the profile type Work Area / Forecast Parameters, only those parameters specific to defining work areas and forecast settings appear in Sub-Type.
Whenever you see existing parameters in the tree view, the topmost node on the tree always corresponds to the profile type or sub-type on which you executed the search.
You assign individual parameters to locations by organizing them into parameter groups and then assigning the parameter groups to the location.
When working with locations within site maintenance, you can:
● Display locations that you have imported
● View whether the location has been activated, that is, had all parameter groups assigned to it
● Copy query category detail to and from locations
● View parameter groups assigned to the location
● Compare configuration detail with a predefined target system
● Transport configuration settings to a predefined target system
