Define Break Types
Use this procedure to define all valid break types within your implementation. You can define complex break rules that the system uses during the scheduling process in order to ensure the resulting shifts include appropriate meals and breaks, according to company policy.
Common break types include meals (which is typically unpaid time periods of 30 minutes or longer), and breaks (which are typically paid periods of approximately 15 minutes). Defining a break type includes defining the duration of paid and unpaid breaks, and defining whether particular breaks constitute a meal.
Schedule rules call for a certain number of breaks and meals for shifts, depending on scheduled shift lengths. The system uses the definitions you enter with this procedure to determine if the appropriate types and numbers of breaks are assigned to each shift.

Define as many break types as you will need within break rule sets.
