Procedure

Perform the following Customizing activities in SAP ERP. For more information, see the SAP Customizing Implementation Guide.

  1. Create values to be determined using substitution.

  2. Enhance basis structure for substitution.

    Use the structure FILA_VALSUP for the substitution. If there are not enough fields available, you can enhance the structure using an append structure.

  3. Specify substitution rules.

    To create a new substitution, follow the instructions in the activity. Enter FILA_VALSUP as the substitution.

    Enter a prerequisite and a substitution. If this prerequisite is met, the system copies the substitution value to the value ID. If the prerequisite is not met, the system does not copy any values. You can define conditions in the corresponding field in the structure FILA_VALSUP or using rules that you have defined in the corresponding field in the structure FILA_VALSUP.

    When you enter a substitution, you can enter the result to be returned by the system if the prerequisite is met. For example:

    • Constant value (20 characters)

    • User exit (name of the user exit)

    • Field-to-field assignment (enter the field in the structure FILA_VALSUP)

  4. Specify value transfer in basis structure for substitution.

    Enter the value IDs for the substitution, with the exception of the value for the field FILA_VALSUP.

    You define how the structure is filled using a combination of process, company code group, accounting principle, and classification key. Enter a value from the structure FILA_VALSUP in every field that is used in substitutions or in substitution rules.

    Note Note

    You can use the Classification Key field only if you want to determine a value that is used after classification has been performed. You cannot enter a value ID in Field Name because this field uses the substitution (this would create an endless loop).

  5. Create substitution sequences and assign substitution steps.

  6. Enhance basis structure for derivation of substitution sequences.

    Use the structure FILA_GF_VSRDET for the substitution sequences. If there are not enough fields available, you can enhance the structure using an append structure.

  7. Specify value transfer in basis structure for determining substitution sequence.

    In this IMG activity, you specify how the correct substitution or substitution sequence is determined. To do this, use a combination of process, company code group, accounting principle, and classification key.

  8. Define derivation of substitution sequences.

    Define one or more steps for deriving a substitution sequence. For each step, define source fields (containing the input parameters) and target fields (substitution or substitution sequence). You can enter a condition in each step that restricts the use of this step (for example: "Use step x only if accounting principle y is used"). You can also enter specific attributes for a step.

    When you have entered the derivation, choose Maintain Rule Values. Enter the source values (input parameters) used for the target values (substitution or substitution sequence).
