Change of Ownership
You can use this function to transfer an existing lease from one lessee to another. Therefore, you replace the original sold-to party with the new one. The new sold-to party has to represent the same location as the old sold-to party.
When you execute a change of ownership, the system creates a new lease. You can execute a change of ownership at any time up to the end of the lease term.
You execute the change process at header level, which means the changes apply to the entire contract. This process is created as a sub-change process and can be executed only for the full quantity of the leased objects. You can execute this change process manually only by choosing Actions; you cannot execute this change process as an option.
This change process is created in Customizing under the technical name LCOO. A BRF rule defined in the standard system ensures that the CHOP change process is executed at item level.
· You have configured the partner determination procedure in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management, by choosing Basic Functions → Partner Processing. In the process, you have ensured that the new business partner is assigned the role Sold-To Party and that this business partner is assigned to the correct distribution channel.
· To simplify partner determination, you have entered the correct partner determination procedure for the transaction types LEAO (Leasing quotation) and LEAS (Lease) in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management, by choosing Transactions → Basic Settings → Define Transaction Types.
· You have an active lease with the status Released.
· You have received a customer request for a change of ownership.
You can execute this change process for the full quantity of your leased objects only. If you want to change the lessee for a split quantity of your leased objects only, you have to perform a Contract Split first. You can then change the lessee for the split quantity.
The lessee (company) is taken over by another company. The new company takes on the existing lease.
