Use

If you use SAP Media as your backend system, you must make some special settings for replicating business partners and business partner relationships.

Business Partner Concepts in SAP CRM and SAP Media

The technical aspects of the business partner in SAP Media are based on the SAP Business Partner (SAP BP). If you create a business partner in a customer role in SAP Media, the system creates a customer in the background. The customer roles are Media Customer, Sales Customer, and Retailer. This means both the SAP BP and the customer master must be taken into account when replicating business partners between SAP CRM and SAP Media.

Technically, the business partner in SAP CRM is also based on the SAP BP. Where the following documentation mentions the SAP BP, this refers to the SAP BP in SAP R/3. To distinguish between the two, the SAP BP in SAP CRM is referred to as “CRM BP”.

Business Partner Roles in Replication

The following business partner roles are replicated between SAP CRM and SAP Media:

      General Business Partner (000000)

      Contact Person (BUP001)

      Prospect (BUP002)

      Employee (BUP003)

      Sales Customer (ISM000)

      Retailer (ISM001)

      Media Customer (ISM020)

If you process a business partner with a different role, they are replicated as a General Business Partner.

Business Partner Numbers

When business partners are replicated, the business partner numbers are the same in SAP CRM and SAP Media. If a customer also exists for the business partner, the customer also has the same customer number.

Contact Persons

SD Contact Persons are not supported in SAP Media. For this reason, SD Contact Persons are not created when contact person relationships are replicated from SAP CRM. Instead, contact person relationships are also created in SAP Media.

Maintaining Customers/Customer Master in SAP Media

Business partners can only be maintained using the SAP BP. Direct maintenance of customers is not supported. For this reason, you must deactivate authorization for transactions XD01, FD01, XD02, and FD02.

Prerequisites

SAP Media is your back-end system and you use the SAP BP. If you use contact persons in the Advertising Management component, these must also be set up for the SAP BP.

Caution
