You use this function to view stock information about the following:

  • Quantity of own stock items

  • Quantity of stock items with other service representatives

  • Quantity of stock items with any other storage location

This feature helps service representatives know where the right service parts can be found, and whether they have the required quantity of service parts in stock.

Note Note

Stock information for service parts is updated on the mobile client even when service technicians process goods movements or service confirmations in offline mode. This enables service technicians to use latest stock information when fulfilling service requests. For more information, see Local Stock Update.

Prerequisites

You have made the required configuration settings as described in SAP Solution Manager.

Features

The Search and Stock Overview tile sets provide you access to stock information.

“Stock/Search” Tile Set

In this tile set, you can do the following:

  • Search for stock by specifying values for any of the following as your search criteria:

    • Product ID

    • Product Description

    • Plant

    • Storage Location

    • Employee

      Note Note

      The values in the Employee, Plant and Storage Location fields are defaulted to those corresponding to the user who has logged on. When you change the employee, the values in the Plant and Storage Location fields get defaulted to the corresponding values.

      A product that is not in stock (stock quantity is nil) is not displayed in the search result list.

  • Based on your search criteria, the results are displayed in the Stock tile. If you click the hyperlinks in the results tile, you see additional details as follows:

    • The Product ID hyperlink provides you with product details.

    • The hyperlink in the Unrestricted column provides you with additional stock information.

    • The hyperlink in the Employee provides you with additional employee information.

“Stock/Stock Overview” Tile Set

You have selected a stock item from the search result in the Stock/Search tile set. In this tile set, you can then do the following:

  • View stock details of the selected stock item

    Stock details include quantity of different stock types.

  • View batch and serial number details

    This is applicable for items that are batch or serial number relevant.

  • View additional employee and product information by clicking the respective hyperlinks.
