Configuring Java Virtual Machine (JVM) HTTP
Proxy Settings
The
selling via eBay®
(SVE) application requires a connection to an eBay API server in the Internet.
HTTP proxy settings are therefore mandatory.

If you have
installed the SVE application on a J2EE (SAP NetWeaver 2004s) server with SAP
Enterprise Portal installed, the HTTP proxy parameters maintained in the J2EE
Engine configuration tool are overwritten by the portal service. You must
therefore set the HTTP proxy in the portal service using the procedure
described in
System Properties for
Proxy Server*, and not in the J2EE Engine configuration tool.
* You can also search for this topic on SAP Help Portal (help.sap.com) under SAP NetWeaver.
To set the proxy:
...
1. Run the J2EE Engine configuration tool, which is located in the following directory:
<J2EE-DIR>/configtool
2. Add the following Java parameters to the instance on which the SVE application is deployed:
ˇ -Dhttp.proxySet=true
ˇ -Dhttp.proxyHost=proxy.xyz.com
ˇ -Dhttp.proxyPort=8080
ˇ -Dhttps.proxyHost=proxy.xyz.com
ˇ -Dhttps.proxyPort=8080
ˇ -Dhttp.nonProxyHosts=*.xyz.com
ˇ -Dhttps.nonProxyHosts=*.xyz.com
For more
information, see
Configuring Instance
Properties, which you can find on SAP Help Portal under SAP
NetWeaver.
All applications that use outbound HTTP connections from the J2EE server are affected by these settings.
