You can set up actions in Customizing according to the demands of your company’s processes.

Prerequisites

  • You know the business object type of the transaction type or item category for which you want to define actions. You find the business object type in Customizing of transaction types.

  • To define date-dependent actions, you must have defined date profiles in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under   Basic Functions   Date Management   Define Date Profile.  . For more information, see Date Management (CRM-BF-DAT).

  • You have made the necessary settings for actions in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under   Basic Functions   Actions  .

Features

You use general attributes to control actions. For each action, you can define the following:

  • When processing is to take place (processing time)

  • Whether scheduling is to be automatic as soon as the schedule condition has been fulfilled

  • Whether changes can be made in the document to condition and processing parameters

  • Whether it can be started from the action list in the document

  • Whether it depends on certain parameters, that is, it can only be executed for certain business partners

  • Processing Types

Several processing types are available in CRM:

  • Methods (Business Add-Ins)

  • Workflow

  • Smart Forms

  • Conditions

You can define one or more schedule– and start conditions in the action definitions within a profile.

  • The assignment of action profiles to transaction types or item categories

You always define actions in an action profile, and assign the action profile to a transaction type or to an item category. As a result, these actions are always available in a document of this transaction type or in an item of this category.
