Creating a Forecast Template 

Use

You create forecast templates on the Forecast Templates page for use when you set forecast parameters.

 

Prerequisites

Forecast templates are created for a previously forecasted week. You must create a forecast before you can save it as a forecast template. See Starting a New Forecast for more information.

 

Activities

Set the forecast date in the Based on Week of field to use in your template.

The forecast saved within the template is for the week in the Based on Week of field. The week you select must contain a forecast. You are prompted to enter a valid week if you select a week that does not contain a forecast.

If not at the schedule week you want to use for your forecast template, enter the new date, scroll to that week or select the week from the calendar pop-up and click Go.

The date displayed in the Based on Week of field is the starting day for the schedule week even if you select a different day of the week.

You see the template in the Templates column and the template appears in the Forecast Template Name drop down list on the Forecast Parameters page.

If you start to create a forecast template and attempt to leave the page without first saving the forecast template, you receive a prompt asking if you want to save the forecast template or continue with the action without saving.
