Note that during transaction processing, the default display for transaction types with the same leading business transaction type is based on the alphabetic sequence of the transaction type key. This means for example that in the case of the example Customizing settings for the transaction Industries ® Media: Intellectual Property Management ® License Acquisition ® Maintain License Acquisition Contracts (leading business transaction category is BUS2000231 here), transaction type IPMB (IPM service contract) is displayed as a default and not IPME (IPM acquisition contract).

During transaction processing, which is accessed from Industries ® Media: Intellectual Property Management ® <License Acquisition> or <License Sales> or <Confirmation ® <License Acquisition Contracts> or <License Sales Contracts> or <Enter Confirmation Data>, you also have the option of using buttons to create documents of a specific transaction type.
To do so, record the transaction types required during transaction processing on the Specific tab page under Extras ® Settings…. (If you for instance record IPMB for service contracts, IPME for acquisition contracts and IPMV for sales contracts, you can generate these contracts using buttons in the transactions listed above.)

You must also assign a scenario to a transaction type. A scenario defines the attributes that control how the contract is displayed and the combination of objects allowed Assign the business transaction category BUS2000230 License Sales Contr. or BUS2000231 License Acqu. Contr. to your transaction type and define the Customizing header data for this business transaction category. You can assign a scenario to several transaction types.
You can define User Interface Scenarios by choosing the following path in the Implementation Guide:
Customer RelationshipManagement -> Industry-Specific Solutions -> Media -> Intellectual Property Management -> Transactions -> Settings for IPM Transactions -> Define User Interface Scenarios.

Note the following special feature when you assign the number range objects:
● You enter the number ranges for acquisition contracts, sales contracts and confirmations under Customer Relationship Management ® Transactions ® Basic Settings ® Define Number Ranges:
○ Number ranges for acquisition contracts
○ Number ranges for sales transactions
○ Number ranges for confirmations
