Editing an Installed Base
Structure
You can use the structure processing functions to make any changes to an existing structure, whereby you can move, copy, or cut individual components or entire branches of the structure.

Cut or delete |
Cut and transfer to clipboard or delete. If you cut a component, it is removed from the structure along with the subordinate objects and stored on the clipboard. As long as installed base processing is not closed and no additional components have been transferred to the clipboard, you can reinsert the component. Otherwise the components are deleted. |

Clipboard:
A component available on the clipboard is deleted in the following circumstances:
● The structure is saved and the transaction is ended
● Another component is transferred to the clipboard using cut or copy
The time when changes were made to an installed base or to a component are recorded. The system enters an internal Valid To time for the components and an additional Valid From time.
This means that you can reconstruct previous statuses after changes are made to the structure or components. You can also compare the statuses at two different points in time. This function is available on the SAP Easy Access screen. For more information, see Displaying Two Installed Bases (SAP Easy Access).
You can select the editing function in section Installed Base Hierarchy.
First select the components to be edited in the structure display and then choose an editing function.
