The standalone enqueue server is used to store the enqueue functionality in a separate process running on a different machine, which makes it simple to configure for high availability. The enqueue replication server is required to do this.

The standalone enqueue server is used in the following SAP systems:

      AS Java systems: Here the standalone enqueue server is part of SAP Central Services (SCS)

      AS ABAP systems installed with the HA option
