Groupware integration enables you to exchange business partner (contact) data and activities (appointments and tasks) between SAP CRM and a groupware application (Microsoft Outlook or IBM Lotus Notes). This capability enables users to continue to use the groupware applications that are central to their work processes, while ensuring that relevant data is made available in the SAP CRM system.
Example
Groupware users can see in their calendars business meetings with a customer, which were defined as appointments in SAP CRM. They can also see contacts that were mapped from SAP CRM business partners, and can, for example, quickly find a customer telephone number without needing to call up the SAP CRM UI.
The following integration options are available for groupware integration:
Synchronization with SAP CRM mobile applications
For more information about synchronization with the mobile client see Integration of the Mobile Client Calendar with Groupware.
For a comparison of server-based groupware integration with mobile client synchronization see Comparison of the Different Groupware Integration Technologies.
Note
You cannot use server-based groupware integration and client-based groupware synchronization simultaneously.
