In the auctioning via Web shop (AVW) application, administrators can:

  • Start and stop scheduled tasks

  • Monitor the status of scheduled tasks

  • Review the task log

Prerequisites

  • You have configured the scheduler. For information on where to find the configuration documentation, see Auctioning via Web Shop.

  • You have set up the tasks as follows:

    1. Log on to the AVW application as an administrator at:

      http://<servername:port>/avw/init.do

      A table with the following three tasks is displayed:

      • CloseAuctionTask

      • WinnerPollTask

      • PublishAuctionTask

    2. Select all three tasks and choose Start.

      Note Note

      The first time you log on, you need to start all three tasks.

      All three tasks are now started and run periodically, based on the time interval you defined in Extended Configuration Management (XCM).

Column

Description

Name

Provides detailed information about the task such as the time interval and execution history. On the execution history tab page, there is a link to the execution log for each run.

Type

Periodic or daily

Next Run Time

Time the task will next run. By default, all three tasks are set to periodic, meaning they will run periodically, based on the time interval you defined in XCM.

Status of Last Run

The task was successful or had errors.

Status

Task's current status, which can be:

  • Stopped

  • Started

  • Running

  • Queued

  • Not started

    If a task is started, you can stop it.

    If a task is stopped, you can restart it.

Execution Count

Total number of times the task has been executed.
