External List Management is a comprehensive function that enables you to manage external lists for acquiring new customers, increasing market share, and increasing brand awareness. It encompasses the complete process of procuring external data, checking and preparing this data to create business partners and target groups from the records, and updating existing data.

The external lists can be obtained from external providers of marketing data and may differ from one provider to the other. Mapping formats can be created to map the existing data to a target structure and choose the fields to be imported from the external list. Once the mapping formats are created, mapping rules can be defined to convert the lists to a specific format.
