Procedure documentationTranslating Scripts Locate this document in the navigation structure

You can use this procedure to translate all elements of a script from the original language to a target language. This procedure is useful because the text element type, original text and target text are displayed all in one screen area. Additionally, to see the script design in context, you can open the script on another tab. This allows you to see how the elements fit together to make up the script, giving you more contextual information for your translation.

Prerequisites

You have created scripts and are now ready to translate them.

Procedure

  1. In the Interaction Center WebClient choose   IC Manager   Interactive Script Editor  .

  2. In the repository, choose the script you want to translate.

  3. Choose Translate.

The Script Translator tab appears in the attributes section of the screen.

  4. On the Script Translator tab, select the source and target languages for translation and choose Load Translation Table.

  5. In the editor, enter your translations in column Translated Text.

If the original text or the translated text is too long and does not fit in the table, the entire text appears in the tooltip for that field. It is also possible to move the table dividers to suit your needs.

    Note Note

If an element has already been translated in another script, the translation appears automatically in column Translated Text.

You can overwrite the original translation if required. If you overwrite the original translation, it has the following consequences, depending on element type:

    • Fields

The original translation is unchanged, and your new translation is only saved for the current script. Field translations are saved separately for each script.

    • Buttons

The original translation is also changed. If you want a different translation for the same original text, you must create a new button. The most current button translation is saved in the button repository and overwrites previous translations for that button.

    End of the note.
  6. Save your translation.

  7. In order for agents to use your translation, you must add the target language to the list of script languages in the script profile.

You can complete this step in Customizing for the   Interaction Center (IC) WebClient   Basic Functions   Define Script Profiles  .

Result

A translated version of the script is saved in the script repository. Agents can now use this script in the language into which you have translated it.
