Marketing Plans and Campaigns 
Marketing plans and campaigns are the elements of a hierarchically built marketing project.
A marketing plan is an instrument used in marketing to draw up and implement marketing policy.
A campaign is an instrument used in marketing planning and campaign management to plan the measures by which a marketing plan is to be executed.

Marketing projects are marketing plans, trade promotions, deals or campaigns.
Marketing elements is a collective term for marketing plan elements, campaign elements and trade promotion elements.
The marketing plan is used as an organizational tool for top-down budget and target planning. You can use marketing plan elements to structure a marketing plan in the form of a hierarchy. You can assign one or more campaigns to each marketing plan element.
Marketing plans can be broken down into further marketing plans, marketing plan elements or campaigns. However, you can only assign campaigns to a campaign. You cannot assign marketing plans to a campaign.
Campaigns are used for operative marketing planning and execution. Multiple campaign elements make up a campaign.
