Function documentationConfiguring Repetitive Tasks Locate this document in the navigation structure

You can create repetitive tasks in CRM Activity Management. Repetitive tasks are actions that a user executes in a defined period of time on a regular basis, similar to the function in Microsoft Outlook. This could be used for example, if a user needs to make a weekly report for an activity that is meant to run over a long period of time.

A default repetitive task is part of the standard delivery, however, you can configure your own repetitive task. To see how the default is configured and use it as a reference for your own configuration, see the explanation of the process in Customizing under   Customer Relationship Management   Transactions   Settings for Activities   Configure Repetitive Tasks  .

Prerequisites

A repetitive task must have the following date fields:

  • Start Task Date

  • Recurrence, determining the frequency at which a task is to be created

  • Recurrence Rule, calculating when the next task is to be created

  • Next Recurrence

  • Recurrence End

  • Completion Date

Activities

There are various activities you need to perform to create a repetitive task:

  1. Create a date profile.

  2. Create an action profile to determine the action the system will perform when the task is executed.

  3. Define the conditions under which the action will be executed.

  4. Set a callback using the function module CRM_CMG_SET_COMPLETION_DATE .

  5. Define a transaction type.
