Creation of Objects
You create objects to map the unique properties of a specific leased object (for example, a vehicle) or a related service (for example, a fuel card) in the system.
You have made the following settings in Customizing:
● You have defined the required object families: SAP provides object families for vehicles (0311) and service cards (0312).
For more information, see Customizing for Cross-Application Components → SAP Product → Individual Objects → Define Object Families.
● You have entered categories for the objects.
SAP Implementation Guide → Cross-Application Components → SAP Product → Product Without Customizing Transfer from Backend Systems → Maintain Categories/Hierarchies.
○ You have created the required categories for your object.
○ For each of the required objects (vehicles; service cards) you have created a specific category of the type Material and with the object family 0311 (Auto) or 0312 (Service Card).
○ You have also assigned the relationship types Reference Product to Ind. Object (PROREFS) and Financed by Financing Product (FINANCD) to the category on the Relationship Types tab page.

Note that the object Vehicle requires the following set types:
■ Business Data (COM_COMMERCIAL): Provides information about the internal status of the object
■ Financing-Dependent Attributes (CRM_PR_RESIDVL)
● To be able to assign objects to reference products, you must first execute the following functions:
○ Allow product reference: SAP Implementation Guide → Cross-Application Components → SAP Product → Basic Settings → Allow Product References for Individual Objects
○ Create the product to which you want to assign the object
● When you create an object, select the required category for the object family, for example vehicle or service card. The system enters the corresponding object family.
● You can create an object and assign it a reference product. This allows you to reference its business and technical data. Referenced product data can be displayed only.
For more
information, see
Referencing Data from
Products.

You can refer to the Service Card object using the reference product Fuel Card: The reference product contains general data that describes the service, such an indication of whether the customer can also make purchases or which fuel they are permitted to use. The object therefore contains the individual data that is valid for a specific card only.
For more
information about the service contract product, see
Service Contract
Product.
● Set the Locked indicator, if the object is not to be used.
● Enter the individual data for the object that is to be assigned to the object using the set types.
