If a lessee no longer wants to use a certain product or wants to terminate the lease, you can use this function to create a termination quotation that contains all outstanding receivables.

Features

You create termination quotations for individual items or for all the items in a contract.

You execute a change process in an activated lease in SAP CRM. The system displays all the items for the lease. You choose the relevant items, including all the quantities specified. You trigger the TERQ (Termination Quotation) change process for these items. At the same time, in Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable (FI-CA) the function calculates the termination total from the following values for the open items:

  • Overdue receivables

  • Fees

  • Late payment fees

The function uses the values calculated in FI-CA and the information from the contract to create the termination quotation. The standard calculation methods for operating leases and capital leases are used. The system displays all the receivables (such as fees) from Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable as open items in the termination quotation. You send the termination quotation containing the conditions of termination to your customer. If the customer accepts these conditions and pays the outstanding amount, FI-CA initially posts the incoming payment to an interim account for clarification.

Check and Activate Termination Quotation

To check whether the payment has been received, in SAP ERP on the SAP Easy Access screen, execute the report Check and Activate Termination Quotation (/LSIERP/TQ_CHECK_INC):

Accounting   Financial Accounting   Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable   Enhancements for Leasing   Termination Quotation   Check and Activate Termination Quotation  .

The function checks the incoming payment and compares the amounts. If the amounts match or if they were received during a previously defined grace period, the function posts the amount to FI-CA and terminates the relevant contract items by activating the termination quotation. At the same time, the function deactivates any other termination quotations that were created in parallel for the same initial contract. If you adjust the outstanding amount by deducting the actual amount received, you can write off the difference in FI-CA.

If the incoming payment is not received during the stipulated grace period, it remains posted to an interim account until the matter is clarified.

If payment is not received by the end of validity of the termination quotation, you can set the termination quotation to inactive. In this case, the contract items are not terminated.

Mass Creation of Termination Quotations

You can also create termination quotations in mass processing, either online or in a scheduled background job.
