Setting Up Free Goods

Use

You can offer free goods in your B2B and B2C Web shops. You use free goods upon the sale of a certain amount of another product to encourage the customer to order large quantities.

Procedure

1. Create free goods. This varies depending on whether you are using CRM Web Channel or ERP E-Commerce:

CRM Web Channel

You cancreate free goods for CRM Web Channel in one of two ways:

○ Directly in your SAP CRM system.

In Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Basic Functions ® Free Goods ® Set Up Free Goods.

Note

In condition maintenance inclusive bonus quantity free goods have type 1, and exclusive bonus quantity free goods have type2.

¡ In your ERP system and upload them to your SAP CRM system.

In the SAP Easy Access Menu choose Logistics ® Master Data ® Conditions ® Free Goods ® Create. For more information, see the SAP Library under SAP ERP Central Component ® Logistics ® Sales and Distribution (SD) ® Basic Functions and Master Data in SD Processing (SD-BF) ® Free Goods.

ERP E-Commerce

You create the free goods directly in your ERP System.

2. In your B2C Web shop you have to make the following additional settings in Extended Configuration Management (XCM).

a. Log on to Extended Configuration Management (XCM) for your B2C Web shop at: http://<server:port>/b2c/admin/xcm/init.do.

b. Go to Start ® Application Configurations ® Customer and select the basketdata component. Enable the following parameters:

■ freeGoodsEnable

Enables free good determination.

■ forceIPCPricing

Defines the use of IPC pricing as free goods work with the IPC.

■ freeGoodsShowWarningMessage

The system displays a message to the customer to inform them that free goods are available for the product they have chosen. For example, you set up a free goods condition to say that if a customer buys three laptops they get 1 free. If a customer orders two laptops the system display a message informing them of the special offer so that they can change their order should they wish.
