Getting Involved
If Knowledge Management (KM) is new to you and you would like to get started with development, we recommend that you:
●
Get an elementary
understanding of the repository framework layer, the Knowledge Management
layer, and their extensions. In particular, familiarize yourself with the role
of repository managers and resources within the framework. As resources are
the central objects within the framework and expose the most useful functions,
it is helpful to focus on their structure in detail.
For more information, see Concepts of Enterprise
Knowledge Management.
●
Make sure that the
development environment is set up as required. You need a SAP NetWeaver
Developer Studio for writing code and an installation of usage type EP for
testing. In addition, if you intend to write code that includes search and
classification operations, you must install and set up a connection to a TREX
engine.
For more information, see Working with the
Development Environment and Working with SAP
NetWeaver Development Infrastructure (NWDI).
