During settlement of a royalties-relevant acquisition contract item, the system observes the price agreements that have been recorded for this item (condition maintenance group 1701). If no price agreement is available for a condition type:

The system observes the price agreement recorded if a higher-level item is available.

The system observes the price agreement recorded at contract header level (condition maintenance group 1700), if no higher-level item is available (if the royalties-relevant item is also a main item).

This is a two-stage access, in which the system distinguishes between the (royalties item, higher-level item) or (royalties item, contract header), according to whether a higher-level item is available or not.

In contrast to this, a three-stage access is performed during pricing in the sales contract (royalties item, higher-level item, contract header).

The condition maintenance groups listed in the following table are also supplied for the Author Relationship Management scenario. For more information, see Best Practices for the Author Relationship Management Scenario.
