Define Groups of Condition Tables and
Condition Types for IPM
The following table contains the SAP Customizing settings supplied for Intellectual Property Management. These settings provide you with examples of the Customizing requirements and ensure that the functions run correctly.
If you want to modify these settings according to the requirements of your media company, choose the following path in the SAP Implementation Guide (IMG): Customer Relationship Management ® Transactions ® Settings for Contracts ® Price Agreements and Configuration ® Define and Assign Groups of Condition Tables and Types.
...
1. Analyze the SAP Customizing settings provided.
2. Copy the Customizing settings provided and create your own Customizing entries in the customer namespace.

All IPM-specific objects in pricing start with 17*.

During settlement of a royalties-relevant acquisition contract item, the system observes the price agreements that have been recorded for this item (condition maintenance group 1701). If no price agreement is available for a condition type:
● The system observes the price agreement recorded if a higher-level item is available.
● The system observes the price agreement recorded at contract header level (condition maintenance group 1700), if no higher-level item is available (if the royalties-relevant item is also a main item).
This is a two-stage access, in which the system distinguishes between the (royalties item, higher-level item) or (royalties item, contract header), according to whether a higher-level item is available or not.
In contrast to this, a three-stage access is performed during pricing in the sales contract (royalties item, higher-level item, contract header).
The condition maintenance groups listed in the following table are also supplied for the Author Relationship Management scenario. For more information, see Best Practices for the Author Relationship Management Scenario.
