Change of Location
You use this function to trigger a change of location for a leased object within the same country and for the same lessee.
When a lessee moves with a leased object to a new location or when the leased object itself is relocated, the system creates a new lease. You can execute a change of location at any time up to the end of the lease term.
You execute the change process at item level, which means that the changes apply to individual contract items only. This process is created as a sub-change process and supports the entry of split quantities for your leased objects. You can execute this change process manually only by choosing Actions; you cannot execute this change process as an option.
In SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) you use the process CHOP to execute a change of location. The change process LCOL is created and assigned in the Lease Accounting Engine (LAE, SAP ERP).
· You have configured the partner determination procedure in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management, by choosing Basic Functions → Partner Processing. In the process, you have ensured that the business partner is assigned to the correct distribution channel.
· You have an active lease with the status Released.
· You have received a customer request to move a leased object from location A to location B.
Due to an internal restructuring, a lessee wants to move 10 of 100 widgets from New York to San Francisco. The remaining 90 widgets remain installed at the San Francisco location.
