Correct Claim

You can correct claims, for example, if you have:

  • Assigned an incorrect marketing project

  • Entered an incorrect amount or payee

A claim correction can result in the following situations:

  • The system issues a debit memo. This can happen if the new validated amount is smaller than the old validated amount.

  • The system issues a credit memo. This can happen if the new validated amount is greater than the old validated amount.

  • The system can roll back the actions taken by the claim, for example affected funds or prepayments. New funds and prepayments can be affected.

Cancel Claim

You can cancel a claim or a claim item. This process reverses the postings associated with the claim, or the claim item. You cannot cancel claims that have a claim correction.

Canceling claims, or claim items depend on whether the claim is header-oriented, or item-oriented. This information is described in the specific documents for each claim type.

On header level, cancellation of items in the correction claim is not possible, except when the claim item has the status Open. This leads to reactivation of the original claim item.
