Stock information for service parts is updated by the system on the mobile client even when service employees process goods movements or service confirmations in offline mode. This update of information takes place for a combination of plant and storage location, but not at the plant level. The service employee does not have to be connected to SAP ERP for stock information to get updated on the mobile client. This enables service employees to use latest stock information when fulfilling service requests. The system uses local stock information to check for available stock when processing goods movements or service confirmations.

Prerequisites

If you are upgrading from SAP CRM Mobile Service 2007 SP00 or SP01, do the following:

  1. In SAP NetWeaver Mobile, choose   Data Orchestration Engine   Data Orchestration Admin and Monitoring Portal  .

  2. Choose Recover Device option on the Device Administration screen for the following:

    • Device Name with value CRM

    • Data Objects as MSV_STOCK and MSV_GM

The system administrator has enabled the local stock update function by making the following settings in the SAP CRM Mobile System Maintenance (MSY) application:

  • Choosing Cross-Component Settings

  • Selecting the Choice Field ENABLELOCALSTOCK and setting the Choice Field Value to True

Features

Local stock update features are available with the following components of service stock management:

Goods Movements
  • When goods movement documents are created and submitted, this can lead to a change in stock quantity. The system updates the mobile client with this increase or decrease of stock.

  • For serial-number-relevant or batch-relevant products, the system updates the mobile client with the relevant serial number or batch information.

  • When a goods movement document is canceled, the system updates the mobile client with the corresponding change in stock information. This includes updating serial number or batch information, when relevant.

  • When the mobile client synchronizes with the CRM server and a goods movement document is rejected, the document appears in the   Inbox   Rejections   tile set of SAP CRM Mobile Service. You can then click the Transaction Name hyperlink of the rejected document to automatically roll back (reverse) the local stock update which happened when this document was last submitted.

  • When a goods movement document is saved, the system checks the stock information (such as availability of stock, batch and serial number details) in the document with the corresponding stock data on the mobile client.

Service Confirmations

Service confirmations can lead to change in stock information, such as, a decrease in stock quantity. Stock information check, and update on the mobile client, is not applicable for batch-relevant service parts.

  • Stock information on the mobile client gets updated when you complete the service confirmation items and chooseSubmit

    Note Note

    When a service employee creates a service confirmation with a serial-number-relevant service part, stock information on the mobile client is updated with the serial number depending on the value of Serial No. Processing for that service part as maintained in the CRM product master. The value for Serial No. Processing can be maintained under Material by using transaction commpr01 in the CRM Server. For the local stock to get updated, the only relevant values for Serial No. Processing are the following:

    • 3 - Check in CRM Against Individual Object and Serial Number

    • 4 - Check in ERP Against Serial Number

  • When the mobile client synchronizes with the CRM server and a service confirmation is rejected, the transaction appears in the   Inbox   Rejections   tile set of SAP CRM Mobile Service. You can then click the Transaction Name hyperlink of the rejected service confirmation to automatically roll back (reverse) the local stock update which happened when this transaction was last submitted.

  • The system checks the quantity of the service part in the service confirmation against the stock information on the mobile client. If the required quantity is not available, the system issues a warning but allows you to confirm the transaction; in this case, the local stock is not updated.

Stock

This component is used by service employees to view stock information. The local stock update function allows for the latest stock information to be viewed.
