Obtaining Performance Data About the Standard
ClientWith the Web Dynpro Console you can measure the performance of the browser client from the tree node Performance ® Client. The browser client is the standard client in the Web Dynpro renderer technology.
The resulting data can be used to analyze performance problems in a Web Dynpro application affecting the client.
You have administrator rights for the J2EE Engine or for SAP Enterprise Portal. If you do not have administrator rights, you can only access a small part of the monitoring information.
1. In the Admin menu of the Web Dynpro Console navigate to Performance ® Client.
2. Start the new measurement process for a given time interval by pressing the Start pushbutton with the label Trigger Client Monitoring. This pushbutton thus changes into a stop button with which you can later stop the measurement process. The RoadMap UI element under the table shows the individual steps of the measurement process.
3. Open the Web Dynpro application to be tested in a separate browser window.
4. Interact with the user interface by triggering an action with a pushbutton or by navigating in a table and selecting a row.

In any case, the interaction must result in a round trip to the server. Otherwise no performance data can be measured.
5. Then go back to the Web Dynpro Console and stop the measurement process by pressing the Stop pushbutton below the RoadMap UI element.
6. The measured data is automatically loaded in the table when the measurement process has ended.
7. Go to the tab page Browser Clients, in which the performance data is displayed.
The resulting data tells you the average time consumed by the client for all browser instances for a given time interval.
For example, the values for the total time of all calls, the average time, and the maximum and minimum times for a call for parsing are displayed in the table.
