Installing/ Updating SDM

You must have a complete SDM installation before updating it.

SDM Server Settings

Have you set the right SDM Server mode?

Do not forget to stop the SDM server before changing the SDM Server mode.

If you want to manage the SDM Server with the SAP Management Console, make sure that the SDM Server is running in integrated mode.

If you restart the J2EE Engine and the SDM is running in integrated mode, you must stop the SDM again separately, since this service is started automatically with the J2EE Engine.

Have you changed the J2EE Engine password in both Visual Admin and secure store?

SDM Remote GUI Client Settings

Make sure that the:

                            a.      SDM server to which you want to connect is working

                            b.      Host and port settings (on both SDM GUI and SDM Server host machines) you are using are correct.

Managing Applications

When deploying, make sure that either the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio and the J2EE Engine Central Instance reside in one and the same domains, or that you have specified the fully qualified name of the remote server host.
