Process documentation Managing Catalog Content in CRM  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

You use this business process to create, maintain, and publish a product catalog to use in your business-to-business (B2B) or business-to-consumer (B2C) Web shop. You can create a wide range of catalogs using different variants, layouts, and views.

Process Flow

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

The following business process runs in SAP CRM:

...

       1.      Create product catalog

You specify a catalog ID (number) and a catalog type.

       2.      Maintain product catalog

You can define catalog variants for product catalogs. For each variant you can define layout areas and views, and assign products and multimedia objects.

Note

Make sure that the pricing-relevant data (document scheme, reference customer, sales area, language, and currency) corresponds with the data specified for the Web shop in the shop management tool.

       3.      Activate product catalog

       4.      Publish product catalog

You save the product catalog and map the catalog ID to the Web shop using the shop management tool. The catalog is now available for customers in the Web shop.

Note

If you are using the B2B scenario, you can additionally choose to index the catalog from SAP CRM to the TREX index server. This improves system performance and enhances the search function.

If you are using the optional product catalog staging, you can preview an inactive version of the catalog variant before it is activated for productive use in the Web shop.
