Overview Pages
In SAP CRM 2007, the editable overview page has been introduced for all CRM business objects with overview pages. This concept includes most of the assignment blocks in which information is displayed in form views and tables. The user can now directly change the information on the overview page by clicking Edit. In general, editable overview pages look the same in display and edit mode.
You can determine which assignment blocks should be displayed on an overview page. You can define the sequence of the displayed assignment blocks, determine specific characteristics, and change their titles.
Select the required application component and then expand the Views node under Browser Component Structure. Choose the required view and click Configuration. In the configuration selection, choose the required configuration.
On the right, you see the Displayed Assignment Blocks area and on the left, the Available Assignment Blocks.
If an assignment block should be displayed on the overview page at runtime, select it from the list of available assignment blocks and move it to the list of displayed assignment blocks, using the Right Arrow key.
If you want to remove an assignment block from the overview page, move it from the list of displayed assignment blocks to the list of available assignment blocks, using the Left Arrow key.
If you want to move an assignment block up or down within the list of displayed assignment blocks, use Up or Down.
You can choose between the load options Direct, Lazy, or Hidden.
Direct means that the assignment block is directly visible and open.
Lazy means that the assignment block is collapsed, but you can expand it.
Hidden means that the assignment block is not displayed. However, you can show it by using the personalization option.
You can change the titles of displayed assignment blocks. Click Display <-> Change and enter the required title in the Title column. Save your entries.
You can show the View ID for the available assignment blocks and the displayed assignment blocks. In the case of displayed assignment blocks, you can see whether each one is AJAX enabled.
You can use Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) to define that an HTTP request is performed within the HTML page without having to reload the entire page.
Views on editable overview pages can be used in display and edit mode. In general, both modes have a unique configuration, which means they have the same fields, labels, captions, and so on.
Some views support the creation of separate configurations with different fields, labels, and captions in the display view and edit view of the editable overview page.
If you want to create separate configurations for display mode and edit mode, proceed as follows:
Select the required application component and the required view.
You can use the standard configuration, which is the unique configuration, or copy the default configuration to your role configuration key.
Select .
You can now see Display Mode Configuration and Edit Mode Configuration.
Select Display Mode Configuration and create a configuration for this mode.
Select Edit Mode Configuration and create a configuration for this mode.
Save your configurations.
Note
If a field label is renamed in one of these configurations, this renaming is automatically copied to the other configuration.
If you want to return to an editable overview page that looks the same in display mode and edit mode, you can switch back to a unique configuration. In this case, the edit mode is the leading mode, which determines the new unique configuration.
Select the configuration with your role configuration key.
Select .
Save the new unique configuration.
In the former CRM WebClient UI, editable overview pages were not available. If you want to use the former CRM WebClient UI logic, because you have existing display views and edit views that are completely configured, proceed as follows:
Start your CRM system.
Select .
Select Parameters and enter the following parameter:
Parameter ID = CRM_UIU_OLD_UIC
Parameter Value = X
Start the CRM WebClient UI and click the symbol Personalize in the work area toolbar of your application.
Click Reset to Default to reset the personalization of the application to standard.
Note
For more information about the navigation behavior after an upgrade to the current release, see SAP Note 1223874.
Example
You want to add and regroup fields, or add a new caption to the service order details of your service order editable overview page, but only in edit mode. You select application component BT116H_SRVO and the BT116H_SRVO/Details view, and create two separate configurations for display and edit mode.
