Large Document Display 

Use

Orders can be extremely large with thousands of items. A customer may only want to view particular items in an order. Or they may want to enable multiple processing of an order by various employees at one time. You can set up your Web shop to deal with large documents to enable multiple processing and filtering of item display.

Prerequisites

You have entered a value for the Threshold Value parameter on the Transaction tab page in the Shop Management Web application. This threshold value determines the number of items an order must contain to be considered a large document. Once this threshold is met the system will treat the document as large and display it accordingly.

Features

Displaying large documents

If the system determines a document to be large it will display only the header details when you select the order for display. In the place of the item details the system displays the number of items in the order and various search parameters for filtering the search. The customer can filter the item search using the following criteria:

●     Status

●     Transaction type

●     Product ID

●     External item number

Changing large documents

The system displays items and header details in the display mode. To change these details you need to be in change mode.

Item Processing

You select the item to be edited and select change items. The system transfers the items into an editable document and you can edit the item in exactly the same way as in Purchase Order Maintenance. The only difference is that these items are blocked to other users until you save the changes you have made. However, all other items in the document are still available for editing by other users. Once you have saved your changes the order is updated and you can print the changed items.

Header Processing

Editing the header details blocks editing at item level. If other users are processing the system displays a message to inform you of this and you must wait until item processing has finished. You can edit the header details in excatly the same way as in Purchase Order Maintenance. The only difference is that products are item level are blocked to other users until you have completed your changes.
