Background documentation BW Report Assembler Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

The BW Report Assembler is available on the mobile client as the program Assembler_Demon.exe. You can use this function for assembling (that is, generating) all workbooks in one go. You can start this function manually or schedule it to be started later (such as overnight during the data transfer). This scheduling option requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher to be installed. This makes the Planned Activities option available in the My Computer screen.

Using this function offers the advantage of providing assembled workbooks more rapidly because they do not need to be assembled just for the purpose of being displayed. Nevertheless, there is still the option of starting the assembly process before the display process instead. This occurs automatically if the assembled version is out of date.

You can start the Assembler_Demon.exe program with or without the following command line:

Assembler_Demon [D|C <language>], where <language> is of the type CHAR(2)

The first parameter is used to determine whether only new data is to be assembled ("D" for "differential") or whether all workbooks are to be completely reprocessed ("C" for "complete").

The second parameter specifies the language for the user interface of the program. The corresponding texts are saved in the file Assembler_Demon.lg and can be translated if necessary (see the documentation in the file).

When the command line is empty, the default Assembler_Demon D EN applies

Note that these line entries need to be entered in upper case. Incorrect command lines generate error messages (see also Log File).

When the BW Report Assembler is called up for the first time, you need to logon with your user name and password in each different application context. The login information is stored in encrypted form so that you are automatically logged into the BW Report Assembler whenever you subsequently call it up. If the information later becomes invalid, you need to logon on manually again. You can cancel the automatic logon transaction by choosing Cancel as soon as the BW Report Assembler has started. Subsequent logons then have to be performed manually.
