Process documentation Using Partner/Product Range Rules Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

You can not only add business partners, products and / or validity periods manually to a partner/product range item, but you can also carry out the assignment via partner/product range rules (PPR rules). The combination of rule ID, parameter ID (optional) and parameter values (optional) at item level for a specific PPR result in a certain PPR rule.

Prerequisites

·         You have defined PPR rules for business partners, products and / or validity periods in Customizing. To do this, go into the IMG and choose Customer Relationship Management ® Master Data ® Partner/Product Range ® Define Rules for Partner/Product Ranges.

·         Optional: You have defined parameter objects for PPR rules. To do this, go into the IMG and choose Customer Relationship Management ® Master Data ® Partner/Product Range ® Define Parameter ID and Parameter Objects for PPR Rules.

·         You have maintained the corresponding reference types for PPR rules (for business partners, product and validity period rules) in the PPR type. Only then can you create a PPR containing a PPR rule. To do this, go into the IMG and choose Customer Relationship Management ® Master Data ® Partner/Product Range ® Define Partner/Product Range Type.

Process Flow

The PPR rule is actually used at item level for a PPR.

1.       Choose Rule as a reference type on a tab page.

2.       Enter the rule ID.

3.       If applicable, choose Parameters and enter values for the parameter objects defined in Customizing.

Result

You have assigned a PPR rule to a PPR. Depending on the settings in Customizing, the rule is executed each time a PPR is used, or is executed asynchronously via the report Executing Partner/Product Range Rules.
