Background documentation Object Types Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

The objects that are involved in the modeling and administration process of CRM Middleware are explained below:

Adapter Object

An object exchanged between the source and target systems, such as the SAP R/3 system and CRM server. For information, see Structure linkObject Management and Structure linkAdapter Objects.

Business Document Type

A set of transaction statements that represent a logical object. It is a container that holds business data necessary to run a business process. For example, a sales document. For more information, see Structure linkBusiness Document Type.

Employee

A remote system user defined on the CRM server. For more information, see Structure linkManaging Employees.

Interlinkage

Represents a relation between two intelligent replication objects that are related to each other through a link table. For more information, see Structure linkManaging Interlinkages.

Logical System

An application system in which the applications are coordinated to work in one common database. In SAP terms, a logical system corresponds to a client. For more information, in the SAP Implementation Guide, see the topic Set Up Logical Systems under Customer Relationship Management ® CRM Middleware and Related Components ® Communication Setup.

Organization

A customer specific organizational structure that is defined on the CRM server (if required). For more information, see Structure linkManaging Organizations.

Publication

Represents a logical grouping of replication objects based on the type of replication. For more information, see Structure linkManaging Publications.

RFC Destination

A unique key that allows you to access a particular server. Each destination is based on the type of connection. For more information, see Structure linkTypes of Destinations.

RFC User

Indicates the name of an R/3 user.

Replication Object

A logical unit, such as customer record, order header with a number of positions, or text module that is defined in the CRM server and exchanged with the different datasets.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

You can define only one replication object for a BDoc type.

Site

A physical dataset that sends or receives data based on the replication defined in the CRM server. Each site is assigned to a site type such as mobile client, SAP R/3 system, or non-SAP systems. For more information, see Structure linkManaging Sites.

Subscription

Determines the distribution of data to sites based on the publications. When you assign a subscription to one or more sites, the replication of data to the respective sites is triggered. For more information, see Structure linkManaging Subscriptions.

Subscription Agent

For more information, see the Administration Console documentation.
