  • Option Buttons

Option buttons allow you to select from different options in the application. Option buttons are typically shown in groups and are also known as radio buttons.

  • Checkboxes

Checkboxes are another way of indicating a selection in the application. Checkboxes can also flag a business object for further activity, for example, To be archived.

  • Choice Controls

Choice controls are available for fields that have the choice control icon at the right side of the field. By selecting the icon, you can open a dialog window that either contains options for you to choose from or for example, if you are searching for data, a dialog window to perform the search.

  • Dropdown Boxes

You can open dropdown boxes for fields that have the dropdown box icon. When you select the icon, the dropdown box displays the possible entries for the field. You can enter text directly into the field, but the text must match exactly one of the entries in the dropdown box. In many cases, if the text does not match the available choices in the box, the system displays the field with a red border to indicate the error. Some fields also allow free-text entries.

  • Date and Time

For fields in which you have the option to enter either a time or a date, you can choose the icon next to the field to make your selection. For fields that require a date, the calendar icon opens a calendar to help you enter the correct date. For fields that require a time, the clock icon opens a time select field.

You can also enter the date and time information manually. However, if you are uncertain about the correct format, you should select the icons to make your entries.

  • Browser

Mobile client applications provide an internal browser that can be used to display Internet sites, Intranet sites, as well as local files such as Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel documents. The browser control normally fills the entire area of a tile when it is displayed.

  • Image Control

The image control allows you to display images and video clips in the application. You can save images and video clips on your laptop. You can then display the saved images with the image control. The image control has a context menu that allows you to perform common functions. You can also save images and video clips as attachments. For more information, see Attachments.
