Transporting an Upgrade Unit 

Use

You use this procedure to export an Upgrade Unit to a file or import an Upgrade Unit from a file. You will use this procedure when you have created customized Upgrade Units and wish to transport these units across repositories in the system landscape.

Prerequisites

You must be working in the Unit mode. The current mode is displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the screen.

Procedure

Exporting an Upgrade Unit

       1.      Logon to the Mobile Upgrade Console by using the source repository DSN, login and password.

       2.      Choose Mode ® Work with Units.

The chosen mode, in this Unitmode, is displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the screen.

       3.      Choose Tools ® Export Unit….

The Export Units window appears with a list of Upgrade Units available in the Mobile Application Repository.

       4.      Check the box corresponding to the Upgrade Units that need to be exported.

       5.      Specify the location where the Upgrade Units have to be exported and stored.

       6.      Choose OK.

Each selected unit is exported to a file with the extension .unt. When the files have been successfully exported, you will see a message indicating the same.

Importing an Upgrade Unit

...

       1.      Logon to the Mobile Upgrade Console by using the source repository DSN, login and password.

       2.      Choose Mode ® Work with Units.

The chosen mode, in this Unitmode, is displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the screen.

       3.      Choose Tools  ® Import Unit….

The Open window appears.

       4.      Select the .untfile representing the Upgrade Unit you want to import.

       5.      Choose Open.

The Upgrade Unit is imported into the Mobile Application Repository.

You can overwrite an existing Upgrade Unit with a similar name, if required.
