Process Flow

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

The following business process runs in SAP ECC:

...

       1.      Analyze asset condition (if necessary)

Before an asset is scrapped for good, the maintenance manager can evaluate the asset to get a view of the asset condition.

       2.      Create / process order

The maintenance planner plans the dismantling of the asset and creates a maintenance order for that.

       3.      Maintain asset and BOM details

The maintenance planner enters the corresponding changes to the overall asset in the system, by updating the functional locations, equipment, and, if necessary, BOMs.

       4.      Place reusable parts in storage

The maintenance technician puts reusable asset parts into storage.

       5.      Send unusable parts to scrapping

The maintenance technicians do not send reusable parts for scrapping.

       6.      Inform asset accountant (if applicable)

If the dismantled asset is also managed in Asset Accounting, the maintenance planner informs Asset Accounting about the dismantling.

       7.      Inform EH&S (if applicable)

If harmful substances have to be transported when the asset is dismantled, the maintenance planner informs the department for Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S department).

       8.      Confirm time

The maintenance planner confirms the times worked.

       9.      Settle and complete order

After confirming the times worked, the maintenance planner can settle and complete the maintenance order.
