Translation Tool 
Purpose
This tool allows you to translate text objects, modeled for a mobile client application, into different languages. The text objects include:
· Captions of applications, business components, tile sets, tiles and controls
· Descriptions of business objects, business queries, properties and combo engines
· Text and descriptions of messages
The mobile client application (for example, Mobile Sales or Mobile Service) delivered by SAP is available in English and German. To translate the application in a language other than these languages, contact your system administrator. He or she must execute the MAR language setup from the installation or upgrade CDs. For example, if you want to translate the English version to Spanish, the Spanish language scripts must be installed.
The Multilingual Translator available in the previous release of Mobile Application Studio (MAS) has been removed in the current release. However, all features supported by the Multilingual Translator are provided in the Translation Tool. The Translation Tool is not an integral part of MAS and is available as an external tool. However, this tool is installed automatically when you install MAS.
Implementation Considerations
You can work with this tool only if the SAP MAR Central Service is running on the port that corresponds to the Mobile Application Repository (MAR). This is required because the Translation Toolconnects to the MAR to access text objects.
Integration
This tool:
· Connects to the MAR to access text objects for translation
· Invokes MAS, if you want to view details of a text object during translation
· Communicates with an SAP R/3 system, if you want to perform translations in the SAP R/3 system
Features
· View text hierarchy
This tool contains a browser that displays all text objects modeled for a mobile client application. These text objects are organized in a specific hierarchy according to applications, business components and so on.
· Generate worklists
This tool can provide a customized display of text objects that have been created or modified during a release. You can enable this feature by generating worklists from the change lists you have created in MAS during a release. You must consider only those change lists in which you have created or modified text objects. This feature eliminates the efforts required to indentify text objects that require translation, from a list of text objects existing in the MAR.
· Quick and easy translation
This tool allows you to translate text objects in the languages that are supported in MAR. While translating a text object, you can search for any word or phrase and replace it with an appropriate word or phrase.
· MAS integration
This tool enables you to invoke MAS while translating a text object. You can use this feature to view details or design time usage of a text object in the mobile client application.
· Export and import
This tool enables you to export text objects to an external environment for translation. You use this feature if you want to translate text objects in an SAP R/3 system or a third-party translation tool. This tool also enables you to import the objects translated in an SAP R/3 system or a third-party tool.
