Maintaining Organizational Data for a Product
Catalog Variant 
This function enables you to define the organizational unit in the product catalog variant, that you require for the processing of a sales order. An example would be the distribution chain that consists of the sales organization and distribution channel. Price/delivery data, and which products belong to the catalog variant are dependent on the distribution chain.
The maintenance of the responsible organizational unit in the product catalog variant is optional. If you do define the responsible organizational unit, the runtime of organizational data determination is improved when a sales order is being created in a Web shop.
The sales organization and distribution channel are transferred from the product catalog variant that is being used and are stored in the organizational data set when a sales order is created in Internet Sales.
In the organizational data, you can also enter the division that appears in the order in the Internet Sales Web shop.
The system automatically determines the organizational data in the Web application during order creation, if no responsible organizational unit is defined in the variant. The system accesses the organizational data profile that is defined in Customizing and the determination rules that are determined there.
· An organizational model must be available for the sales organization and distribution channel.
· You must firstly specify the sales organization and distribution channel, in order to be able to define the responsible organizational unit.
· You must firstly specify the sales organization and distribution channel, in order to be able to define the pricing procedure.
· You must activate this in Customizing for the CRM organizational model so that the field for the division is displayed in product catalog management.
You can specify a responsible organizational unit in the product catalog variant. The organizational unit must have the sales organization and distribution channel of the product catalog variant as attribute values.
The distribution chain is responsible for pricing and controls which products are contained in the variant.

Select a product catalog and enter the sales organization, the distribution channel and the responsible organizational unit, under Variant.
