Function documentation Internal Quality Inspection for Order Items Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

If a quality inspection is required for a particular product before shipping, you can use this function to store the information on the type of quality inspection that should be carried out for the relevant order item in the sales order. The system sends this information to logistics execution.

Integration

The system forwards the fixed values on to logistics execution where they are made available for information purposes for the quality inspection.

Prerequisites

You have defined the fixed values with their related descriptions for the internal item inspection in Customizing. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Customer Relationship Management under Master Data ® Products ® Special Settings for Service Parts Management ® Define Fixed Values for Internal Item Inspection.

In the product master data in field Internal Item Inspection on the General tab page, you have assigned one of these fixed values to the product.

Features

You can define different fixed values in Customizing for the different quality inspections of the individual products. For example, you define a corresponding value when you only want to carry out spot checks on a particular product.

When you create or process a sales order, the system copies the fixed value that you have created for the product in the product master data to the sales order as a default value. You can change this value for the order item in the sales order, and choose a different value that stands for a different quality inspection. The default value is then overwritten by your new selection.

Activities

To change an internal quality inspection, check which field value is selected in the item data in field Internal Quality Inspection on the General tab page. Choose a different fixed value for the internal quality inspection.
