Object documentation Replication Objects Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Definition

Replication objects are generated from BDoc types and are an important prerequisite for sending information to company employees via sites.

Use

A single replication object is generated from each BDoc type.

To display replication objects which have already been defined, choose the object type Replication object, in the Object Type list box. If required make an entry in field Object Name and choose the symbol This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

Activated replication objects are marked as such (the Active object checkbox in the Object information area is selected). You cannot assign unactivated replication objects to publications. Since replication objects are automatically activated when they are created, an error has occurred during generation in such cases. You can activate and regenerate such replication objects by using the Activate function. This generates function modules and a corresponding transport request is created, which has to be released explicitly in order to transfer the data into the target system (typically a production system).

By choosing the corresponding function you can now create additional replication objects or display or add criteria fields or delete already existing replication objects.

Note

You cannot maintain replication objects in a production system, but only in a development or test system. In the case of replication objects maintained there, corresponding function modules are generated and a transport request is created which has to be released explicitly so that the replication objects are also updated accordingly in the production system (target system).
