Procedure documentation Changing or Deleting Subscription Generators Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You are able to change specific customer-defined attributes for a generator. Generators delivered by SAP cannot be changed. These have to be copied. See: Copying Subscription Generators

It is only possible to delete a generator indirectly by changing its active status.

Prerequisites

You have selected the object type subscription generator in the Object type list box.

Procedure

Double-click to select the subscription generator you require in the navigation window.

       1.      Switch to change mode and, under Object information, change the following:

                            a.      The generator name

                            b.      The active status The following values are possible:

Active status

Active status

Value

Blank

Inactive

This status is set automatically if:

·        When creating a generator you did not set the active indicator.

·        A generator was set to status P or R beforehand.

D

To be deleted (delete objects generated)

Set this status if you no longer need the generator and the objects and assignments generated by it are likewise to be deleted.

Note

Generated sites and sites used by the generator are not deleted. Objects that are otherwise used are also not deleted.

After the objects and assignments have been deleted the generator checks whether there are any transport orders still open. If not, it deletes itself.

K

To be deleted (retain objects generated)

Set this status if you no longer need the generator but, however, the objects and assignments generated or used by it are to be retained.

The generator checks whether there are any transport orders still open. If not, it deletes itself.

P

To be deactivated (retain objects generated)

Set this status if you want to set the generator to inactive and the objects and assignments generated or used by it are to be retained.

The status is changed to inactive (blank).

R

To be deactivated (delete objects generated)

Set this status if you want to set the generator to inactive and the objects and assignments generated or used by it are to be deleted.

Note

Generated sites and sites used by the generator are not deleted. Objects that are otherwise used are also not deleted.

After the objects and assignments have been deleted, the status is changed to inactive (blank).

X

Active

Set the generator to active. Generator is scheduled in background job.

Caution

If generated objects remain, deleting them is then only possible manually.

                            c.      The run frequency of a generator

                            d.      The indicator for generating subscriptions

                            e.      The namespace for generating subscriptions

The names of previously generated subscriptions are retained.
